Read reports and estimates

Turn the recorded work into a review of time, scope, and estimate-versus-actual performance.

Before you beginTracked time with client, project, or task context.

01

Start with a useful period

Reports are only as useful as the entries beneath them. Pick a week, month, or custom period that maps to a real question: where the week went, what a project consumed, or how actual time compares with an estimate.

  1. 01

Choose the period that matches the decision you need to make.

  2. 02

Filter to the relevant project, client, or task where available.

  3. 03

Compare recorded time with the project estimate when the project has one.

  4. 04

Correct obvious entry errors before drawing conclusions or sharing the result.

02

Use the result to change the next week

A report should lead to an action: revise an estimate, adjust the project plan, improve a task name, or prepare a clean time set for billing. Avoid treating a single report as a verdict when the source entries are incomplete.
